WordPress is also user friendly to use. Most of websites on Internet uses WordPress. So everybody must be aware of some particular WordPress error occur while using WordPress. It’s really disturbing if you find one fine day that some error is been displayed on your Blog. You see a white page and error give below:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of XXXXXXX bytes exhausted (try to allocate XXXXXXX bytes) in user/public_html/wp-includes/phpfile.php on line XXXX.

You might experience such kind of error when you have uploaded any new theme or installed new addon like plugin. The error seems to be complicated but it’s not that complicated and could be fixed.

PHP.ini is important file which needs to be modified for memory limits. The file is located in ‘public_html/’directory for PHP5. You need to open this file in text editor which can allow you to edit content. Some hosting providers do not provide access to PHP.ini file. In this case, you need to contact them and ask for increase in memory limit. Once file is opened with text editor, try to locate memory limit using (ctrl+F) keys.

memory_limit = 32M; Maximum amount of memory a script may consume (32MB)

You just need to update the value in above line. It always better to update value to higher number upto 64M. Updating it to 64M can help to resolve many requirements. After changing value, save changes and update it to PHP.ini file. You also need to make changes in wp-setting.php. This file can be found on directory where WordPress is installed.

Define (‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ’32M’);
